Tracking a Topic Over Time
A single research report is a snapshot. A scheduled re-run is a tracker.
Three months ago you asked Cowork for a rundown on a regulation moving through your industry. It came back thorough: the proposed rules, the comment deadlines, who was lobbying which way. You saved the doc and moved on.
This morning a colleague asks where things stand. You run the same request again. The new report is just as thorough, and useless for your actual question, because you can't tell what changed. Two deadlines moved. One amendment got dropped. A new agency weighed in. All of it sits buried in a fresh wall of text that looks almost identical to the old one.
The report wasn't wrong. It answered "what is true now" when you needed "what changed since last time." You'd been taking the same photo over and over.
The fix isn't a sharper question. It's giving the report a memory and a clock.
